Description

These Apple Pie Tortilla Wraps with Brown Sugar Butter are a quick and delicious dessert option, blending the comforting flavors of cinnamon-spiced apples with buttery soft tortillas. This stovetop apple dessert recipe is perfect for fall or anytime you crave a cozy treat. Great for breakfast, brunch, or dessert, and made with simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

2 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced

3 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

2 tablespoons butter (for apple filling)

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon water

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 soft flour tortillas

2 tablespoons butter (for glaze)

2 tablespoons brown sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Stir and let cook for 6-8 minutes until apples are soft but not mushy.

2. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the apple mixture. Simmer for another 1-2 minutes to thicken. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

3. Lay each tortilla flat and spoon a line of apple filling down the center. Fold the bottom up slightly and roll tightly into a wrap. Secure with a toothpick if needed.

4. In a small pan, melt 2 tablespoons butter with 2 tablespoons brown sugar until smooth. Brush or drizzle this over the rolled wraps.

5. Heat a non-stick skillet and toast the wraps seam-side down until golden brown. Flip and toast all sides.

6. Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or topped with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for best texture and flavor.

Adjust the brown sugar to taste if your apples are already sweet.

For extra crispness, toast the wraps in a dry skillet without butter.
