Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey 2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
2 tbsp hoisin sauce 1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp sesame oil 4 green onions, sliced
1 cup carrots, julienned
1/2 cup water chestnuts or broccoli (optional), chopped
1 head butter lettuce or romaine, leaves separated
Instructions
- 1. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and ginger; sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground turkey; cook 5-7 minutes until browned, breaking up with spoon.
- In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar; pour into skillet and stir.
- Simmer 2-3 minutes. Stir in carrots, green onions, and optional veggies; cook 1-2 minutes.
- Spoon mixture into lettuce leaves; garnish with extra green onions, sriracha, or peanuts if desired.
Notes
Use tamari instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free version.
For extra crunch, add crushed peanuts or crispy noodles.
Make the filling ahead and assemble wraps just before serving to keep lettuce crisp.
