Ingredients

3 large yellow onions

1 cup shredded Asiago cheese

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Salt to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish or cast iron skillet with butter.

2. Peel and slice the onions into 3/4 to 1-inch thick rounds, keeping the slices intact.

3. Place the onion slices in the baking dish and season each with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

4. Add a small pat of butter on top of each onion slice.

5. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until the onions are soft and starting to brown around the edges.

6. Sprinkle shredded Asiago cheese generously over each onion slice.

7. Broil for 2–4 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbling.

8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
