Ingredients
1 pound baby carrots
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Place baby carrots in a large skillet with just enough water to cover the bottom. Cover and steam over medium heat for 6–8 minutes until tender.
2. Drain any excess water, then add the butter and minced garlic. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
3. Sprinkle in the brown sugar. Stir to coat the carrots evenly and cook uncovered for 5–7 minutes until the glaze thickens and slightly caramelizes.
4. Season with salt and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
5. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
For a richer glaze, use dark brown sugar for deeper molasses flavor.
Slice whole carrots into uniform sticks if substituting baby carrots.
Use a non-stick skillet to help prevent sugar from burning and sticking.
