Description

These Butter Swim Biscuits are rich, fluffy, and baked in butter until golden brown with a crispy edge. A perfect Southern-style comfort food, ideal for breakfast or dinner. This easy no-roll biscuit recipe uses simple pantry staples and comes together in under 40 minutes.

Ingredients

1 cup buttermilk

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 stick unsalted butter (½ cup)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Place the stick of butter in an 8×8-inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven.

2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

3. Add the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

4. Pour the dough over the melted butter in the baking dish and spread evenly.

5. Score the dough into 9 squares using a butter knife.

6. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and crisp around the edges.

7. Let cool slightly before serving warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Do not overmix the dough—stir only until ingredients are just combined.

Scoring the dough before baking helps portion the biscuits neatly.

For extra flavor, add shredded cheese or fresh herbs to the dough.
