Description
This easy Cheeseburger Pie recipe is a family-favorite comfort food packed with savory ground beef, melted cheddar cheese, and a Bisquick crust. Perfect for weeknight dinners, this hearty dish combines the best of a cheeseburger and casserole in one easy-to-make meal.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 small yellow onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup Bisquick mix
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup diced tomato (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned and the onion is soft. Drain excess grease.
3. Season the beef mixture with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
4. Spread the seasoned beef evenly in the prepared pie dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs until well combined.
6. Pour the Bisquick mixture evenly over the beef and cheese.
7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the center is set and the top is golden.
8. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with diced tomatoes or parsley if desired.
Notes
Let the pie sit for 5 minutes before slicing to help it firm up and hold shape.
You can prep the meat layer a day ahead and add the topping just before baking.
Try mixing cheese varieties—Colby jack or mozzarella are great alternatives to cheddar.
