This Cheesy Tater Tot Casserole is a family-friendly, freezer-ready comfort food classic loaded with crispy tater tots, seasoned ground beef, cheddar cheese, and creamy mushroom soup. Perfect for busy weeknights or hearty weekend meals.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 bag frozen tater tots (32 oz)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
1 ½ cups frozen mixed vegetables
½ cup chopped onion
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, brown ground beef with chopped onions until cooked through; drain excess grease.
2. In a bowl, mix beef mixture with cream of mushroom soup, frozen vegetables, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
3. Spread this mixture into a 9×13 baking dish evenly.
4. Top with a layer of frozen tater tots.
5. Bake at 375°F for 35–40 minutes until tots are crispy.
6. Add shredded cheddar cheese over top and bake another 5–7 minutes until melted.
7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Optional: garnish with parsley.
Notes
Use sharp cheddar for maximum flavor.
Add jalapeños or hot sauce if you want a spicy version.
Letting it sit 5 minutes after baking makes it easier to slice and serve.
