Ingredients
1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cubed
12 oz penne pasta
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 ½ cups heavy cream
1 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Sear the Steak: Heat olive oil and butter in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the cubed steak and sear for 2–3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
2. Boil the Pasta: In a large pot, cook penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
3. Make the Sauce: Lower the skillet heat to medium. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add heavy cream and simmer. Stir in parmesan and Italian seasoning, letting the sauce thicken.
4. Combine: Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. Return steak to skillet and gently mix.
5. Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and extra parmesan if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
Use room temperature steak to get a better sear and even cooking.
Don’t overcrowd the skillet when searing steak or it won’t brown properly.
Freshly grated parmesan melts better than pre-shredded and gives a smoother sauce.
