Ingredients
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
1/3 cup honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp water
1 tsp cornstarch (for slurry)
Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Pat the shrimp dry. In a bowl, toss with cornstarch, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
2. Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
3. In a clean skillet, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, red pepper flakes, and vinegar. Heat over medium until bubbling.
4. Mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water to create a slurry. Stir into the sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
5. Return shrimp to the skillet and coat in the glaze. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Use fresh shrimp for maximum flavor and texture.
Don’t overcrowd the pan when frying—work in batches for better crispiness.
Add more chili flakes if you like it spicier, or omit them for a mild version.
