Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought, thawed)
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons granulated sugar (optional)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Powdered sugar, for dusting after baking
Instructions
1. Thaw the puff pastry sheet until just pliable, then roll it out on a lightly floured surface to elongate slightly.
2. Brush melted butter evenly over the pastry. Optionally, sprinkle with granulated sugar and cinnamon.
3. Roll the pastry tightly into a log, starting from the short end. Slice the log lengthwise to expose layers.
4. Twist each half with layers facing out, then coil into a spiral and place into a greased muffin tin.
5. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes, until golden and puffed.
6. Let cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and fill centers with jam or cream if desired.
Notes
Keep puff pastry cold while working to achieve flakier layers.
Use parchment strips in muffin tins for easier removal.
Try different flavors like lemon zest, Nutella, or savory cheese for variations.
