Description
These festive Deviled Egg Christmas Trees make the perfect Christmas appetizer with creamy avocado filling, shaped like mini trees and topped with paprika and golden stars. A delightful holiday recipe that’s easy, eye-catching, and great for parties. Ideal for Christmas potlucks or winter gatherings.
Ingredients
12 large eggs
1 ripe avocado
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh dill or parsley, finely chopped
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon paprika
12 edible stars or holiday-themed sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
1. Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
2. Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover, and let the eggs sit for 10-12 minutes.
3. Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool completely, then peel them.
4. Slice each egg across the width (not lengthwise) to create flat-bottomed halves.
5. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
6. Mash the yolks with avocado, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, dill or parsley, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
7. Spoon the filling into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
8. Pipe the mixture into a tall swirl on each egg half, resembling a Christmas tree.
9. Sprinkle with paprika for color and garnish with an edible star or sprinkle on top.
10. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
Use a wide star piping tip to get the best Christmas tree effect.
Make sure your eggs are fully cooled before slicing to prevent tearing.
Store the filling and eggs separately if making ahead; assemble just before serving.
