Ingredients

Gelatin

Sugar

Corn syrup

Unsweetened Kool-Aid powder

Water

Citric acid (optional)

Powdered or granulated sugar (for coating)


Instructions

  1. Bloom the Gelatin: Sprinkle gelatin over half the water in a bowl. Let sit 5 minutes.
  2. Make Syrup Base: In a saucepan, combine the rest of the water, sugar, and corn syrup. Heat and stir until sugar dissolves and boils.
  3. Add Flavor: Remove from heat. Stir in bloomed gelatin, Kool-Aid, and citric acid if using.
  4. Shape Ropes: Cool slightly. Pipe onto parchment-lined tray into long ropes.
  5. Set and Coat: Let sit until firm. Roll in sugar to prevent sticking.
