Description

Ingredients

6 cups peeled and sliced apples

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking dish.

2. In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, flour, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Spread evenly in prepared dish.

3. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, sugars, and cinnamon. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture is crumbly.

4. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.

5. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbling.

6. Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

For deeper flavor, use a mix of tart and sweet apples like Granny Smith and Honeycrisp.

Add chopped pecans or walnuts to the topping for extra crunch.

To make ahead, store the topping and filling separately and assemble before baking.
