Ingredients
12 oz spaghetti
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp butter
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
1 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tbsp chopped parsley
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Boil spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt butter. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1 minute.
4. Stir in lemon juice and zest. Return shrimp to skillet and add cooked pasta.
5. Add reserved pasta water and toss everything together using tongs.
6. Sprinkle in parmesan and chopped parsley. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
7. Serve immediately with extra parmesan and a lemon wedge, if desired.
Notes
Pat the shrimp dry before cooking for better sear and flavor absorption.
Use fresh garlic for the most intense and aromatic flavor.
Don’t overcook shrimp—remove as soon as they turn pink and opaque.
