Description

This Easy Homemade Blackberry Clafoutis recipe is a rustic French dessert made with fresh blackberries baked into a silky vanilla custard. Perfect for brunch or dessert, it’s light, fruity, and irresistibly creamy. A must-try clafoutis recipe for blackberry lovers!

Ingredients

1 cup fresh blackberries

3 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1/4 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cast iron skillet or baking dish with butter.

2. In a blender or mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, heavy cream, flour, sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth.

3. Pour the batter into the prepared dish. Evenly scatter the blackberries on top.

4. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and the center is just set but still slightly jiggly.

5. Let cool for 10–15 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm or chilled.

Notes

Let the clafoutis rest before slicing to ensure the custard fully sets.

For a richer flavor, you can substitute half-and-half in place of milk and cream.

Dust with powdered sugar just before serving to maintain its visual appeal.
