Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
3. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
4. Add crushed tomatoes and tomato paste, stirring to combine.
5. Sprinkle in Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and sugar. Stir well.
6. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and flavorful.
7. Serve hot over cooked spaghetti or store for later use.
Notes
Simmer longer for deeper flavor — up to 1 hour on low heat.
Add a splash of pasta water before serving for a silky texture.
For a veggie boost, stir in diced bell peppers or mushrooms while sautéing the garlic.
