Description

Bring instant holiday cheer to your kitchen with these Festive Toffee Candied Walnuts. This quick and easy recipe delivers buttery, caramelized crunch in every bite. Perfect as a sweet snack, dessert topping, edible gift, or party treat, these stovetop candied walnuts come together in minutes with simple pantry ingredients. Whether you’re looking for holiday food ideas, easy dessert recipes, or homemade gift ideas, this crunchy toffee walnut recipe is guaranteed to impress.

Ingredients

1 cup walnut halves

1 cup granulated sugar

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat and set aside.

2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, butter, water, and salt. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble.

3. Allow the mixture to boil gently until it turns a deep golden amber color, about 8 to 10 minutes. If using a candy thermometer, cook until it reaches 300°F.

4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Immediately add the walnut halves and stir until evenly coated in the toffee mixture.

6. Spread the coated walnuts onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.

7. Let cool completely at room temperature until hardened. Break apart if needed and serve.

Notes

Stir consistently once the sugar begins to caramelize to prevent burning.

Work quickly after adding the walnuts since the toffee hardens fast.

For extra depth of flavor, lightly toast the walnuts in a dry pan for 3 to 4 minutes before coating.
