Description

This Garlic Cheese Bread is loaded with flavor from fresh garlic, melty mozzarella, and a touch of Parmesan, all baked on a crusty loaf of bread. Perfect for serving alongside pasta, soups, or as a crowd-pleasing snack.

Ingredients

1 loaf of French bread or sourdough

1/2 cup salted butter, softened

3 cloves garlic, minced or grated

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Optional: 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment or foil.
  2. Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place cut-side up on the prepared sheet.
  3. In a bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic (and red pepper flakes if using).
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each half of the bread.
  5. Top with mozzarella cheese and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
  7. Optional: Broil for 1-2 minutes for a more browned top.
  8. Remove from oven, garnish with fresh parsley, slice, and serve warm.
