A quick, flavorful weeknight stir fry made with juicy chicken, crisp broccoli, and a garlic-infused sauce—all served over tender white rice. Perfect for busy evenings, meal prep, or a healthier takeout-style meal at home.
Ingredients
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, thinly sliced
3 cups broccoli florets
3 cups cooked white rice
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
2 green onions, chopped
2 tbsp cooking oil (canola or vegetable)
Instructions
- Slice chicken, chop broccoli into florets, mince garlic, and chop green onions.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water.
- Cook rice according to package instructions, or use pre-cooked rice.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Sear chicken until browned and cooked through (5-7 minutes). Set aside.
- Add more oil to skillet if needed. Stir-fry broccoli for 2-3 minutes until bright green. Add a splash of water and cover briefly to steam if needed.
- Push broccoli to the side, add garlic to the center and stir until fragrant.
- Return chicken to the skillet. Pour in sauce and stir to coat. Cook until thickened.
- Garnish with green onions and red pepper flakes. Serve hot over rice.
