Description

This Ground Beef Orzo with Tomato Cream Sauce is a creamy, one-pan pasta dish packed with savory flavor and weeknight simplicity. Made with tender orzo, seasoned ground beef, and a rich tomato cream sauce, this easy skillet dinner is perfect for family meals. Keywords: ground beef orzo, creamy tomato pasta, one-pan dinner, skillet meals, quick weeknight recipes.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 cup orzo pasta

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes

2 tablespoons tomato paste

3/4 cup heavy cream

2 cups beef broth

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon paprika or Italian seasoning (optional)

1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or thyme (optional)

Instructions

1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Season lightly with salt and pepper and drain excess fat if needed.

2. Add diced onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.

3. Stir in tomato paste and let it cook for 1 minute. Add diced tomatoes and stir to combine.

4. Pour in beef broth and bring to a light boil. Stir in orzo, reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5. Once orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, stir in heavy cream. Simmer uncovered for 2–3 minutes until creamy.

6. Remove from heat. Sprinkle with grated parmesan and fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Stir the orzo occasionally while it simmers to prevent sticking.

Use freshly grated parmesan for best flavor and melting.

For a lighter option, substitute ground turkey and use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
