Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and place the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan. Blind bake for 8-10 minutes for a crispier base, then cool.
- In a bowl, mix sugar and flour until evenly combined.
- Add milk and vanilla to the dry mixture and stir until smooth.
- Stir in melted butter, and a pinch of nutmeg if using.
- Pour mixture into the pie shell carefully near the oven to avoid spills.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until the center is mostly set and the top is golden.
- Cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before slicing.
