Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

12 oz rigatoni or penne pasta

2 cups marinara sauce

1 small onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/4 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. In a skillet, heat olive oil. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.

3. Stir in garlic and ground turkey. Cook until turkey is browned.

4. Add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.

5. Combine the cooked pasta and sauce in a large mixing bowl. Stir in half the mozzarella and all the parmesan.

6. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella.

7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Don’t overcook the pasta—it will continue baking in the oven.

Use freshly grated cheese for the best melt and flavor.
