These honey garlic pork belly slices are richly glazed and oven-roasted to perfection. Sweet, savory, and slightly sticky, they make a satisfying main course paired with rice and vegetables.
Ingredients
1.5 to 2 pounds pork belly slices (about 1-inch thick)
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
Sliced scallions and chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Mix honey, soy sauce, hoisin, vinegar, oil, garlic, ginger, pepper, and chili flakes.
- Marinate pork belly in the mixture for 2+ hours or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a tray with foil and place a rack on top.
- Lay slices on the rack and roast for 25 minutes.
- Flip, baste with extra marinade, and roast for 20-25 minutes more.
- Broil for 2-3 minutes for crisp edges if desired.
- Garnish with scallions and parsley.
- Serve with rice and your favorite veggies.
