Ingredients
2 cups broccoli florets
2 cups cauliflower florets
1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
1 cup heavy cream
4 ounces cream cheese
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
2. Steam the broccoli and cauliflower until just tender, then set aside.
3. In a large skillet, melt butter and sauté the sausage slices until browned. Remove and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, pour in heavy cream and add cream cheese. Whisk until smooth and melted.
5. Stir in cheddar, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until a thick sauce forms.
6. Add the cooked vegetables and sausage back into the skillet. Stir to coat everything well.
7. If not using an oven-safe pan, transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
8. Top with extra cheddar and Parmesan.
9. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbling.
10. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Don’t over-steam the vegetables or they’ll turn mushy during baking.
Use pre-shredded cheese for quicker prep but grate your own for better melt quality.
For spicier flavor, try using andouille or hot Italian sausage.
