Korean beef bowl, creamy garlic sauce, easy rice bowls, and charred corn come together in this fusion favorite.
Ingredients
1 lb flank or ribeye steak, thinly sliced
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp ginger, minced
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 cups cooked white rice
1 1/2 cups sweet corn kernels
2 tbsp butter or olive oil (for sautéing corn)
1/4 cup fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar
Instructions
1. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl. Add sliced beef and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for maximum flavor).
2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, garlic powder, cracked black pepper, and lemon juice until creamy. Chill until ready to serve.
3. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat. Sear the beef slices in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Set aside when nicely caramelized.
4. In a nonstick skillet, sauté corn in butter or olive oil until charred. Season with salt and stir in fresh herbs.
5. Assemble bowls by adding rice to the bottom, topping with cooked beef, charred corn, and drizzling the creamy sauce. Garnish with more herbs or sesame seeds.
Notes
For best beef texture, slice against the grain as thin as possible.
Don’t skip the sear! A hot pan brings out the smoky flavor.
Store sauce separately to keep the bowl fresh and creamy on reheat.
