Description

These maple donut bars are the perfect marriage of cake-like donuts and rich maple glaze, baked conveniently in a pan. Moist, soft, and easy to make, they bring all the warm bakery flavors home without needing a fryer.

2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 cup milk

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup melted butter

For the Maple Glaze:

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

2 tbsp heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir until just combined.
  5. Spread batter evenly in the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  7. For the glaze, heat powdered sugar, maple syrup, and cream in a saucepan over medium heat until smooth.
  8. Let glaze cool slightly, then pour over cooled bars.
