Description

These Maryland Style Crab Cakes are a coastal classic with crispy golden edges and tender, sweet jumbo lump crab inside. Light on filler and big on flavor, they’re the perfect dish for seafood lovers who want to enjoy the true taste of blue crab.

Ingredients

1 lb jumbo lump crab meat

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 large egg

1 tsp Old Bay seasoning

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

1/2 cup crushed saltine crackers or breadcrumbs

2 tbsp butter or oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, egg, Old Bay, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and parsley.
  2. Gently fold in the crab meat and crushed crackers or breadcrumbs.
  3. Shape the mixture into 6-8 patties about 3 inches wide and 1 inch thick.
  4. Chill the patties for 20-30 minutes if they feel too loose.
  5. Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook the crab cakes for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with lemon wedges or tartar sauce.
