Description

Looking for a crowd-pleasing, no-bake dessert that’s perfect for gifting, holidays, or a cool treat after dinner? These Mint Patties are rich, chocolate-covered delights with a creamy peppermint center that melt in your mouth. They’re a go-to for easy dessert ideas, homemade candy gifts, and festive baking. With only a few pantry ingredients and minimal tools, this quick recipe brings big flavor and eye-catching results. Whether you need a holiday snack, a refreshing sweet bite, or an easy homemade candy, this is your answer.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

2 to 3 drops green food coloring (optional)

1 ½ cups dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 tablespoon coconut oil or shortening

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy and smooth.

2. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until a thick but pliable dough forms.

3. Add peppermint extract and green food coloring, if using, and mix until fully combined.

4. Roll dough into small balls and flatten into discs. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

5. Chill patties in the refrigerator or freezer for 30 minutes until firm.

6. In a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler, melt chocolate chips with coconut oil or shortening. Stir until glossy and smooth.

7. Dip each chilled patty into melted chocolate using a fork. Tap off excess and place on parchment paper.

8. Let chocolate set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.

9. Store in an airtight container with parchment between layers.

Notes

Let patties warm for a few minutes before serving for a creamier texture.

Use gel food coloring for a richer green without thinning the dough.

Don’t skip chilling—firm patties are much easier to dip and coat cleanly.
