Description

Mustard Hasselback Kielbasa Bites are a quick and crispy appetizer loaded with smoky kielbasa, caramelized brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and honey. Perfect for game day, potlucks, or family dinners. A crowd-pleasing, easy sausage recipe with big flavor and crunch.


Ingredients

1 pound kielbasa sausage

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a wire rack on top.

2. Lay chopsticks or wooden spoon handles on either side of the kielbasa. Slice the sausage into 1/8-inch thick cuts, stopping before cutting through.

3. In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, Dijon mustard, honey, smoked paprika, and garlic powder until smooth.

4. Brush the glaze over the kielbasa, making sure to get between the slices. Let it marinate for 10–15 minutes.

5. Place the kielbasa on the prepared rack and bake for 20–25 minutes or until crisp and caramelized.

6. Garnish with parsley if using. Serve hot with dipping sauce.

Notes

For even slicing, use chopsticks as a guide to prevent cutting all the way through.

Marinate the sausage for extra flavor—it helps the glaze soak deep into the cuts.

Reheat leftovers in an air fryer or oven to bring back the crispiness.
