A nostalgic and satisfying dish made with a rich, hearty meat sauce and classic spaghetti. Perfect for family meals or gatherings.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
28 oz can crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 cup water or beef broth
12 oz spaghetti
Fresh parsley or basil (garnish)
Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Sauté chopped onion for 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in tomatoes, paste, sugar, herbs, and broth. Season and simmer 30–45 mins.
- Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain.
- Combine pasta with sauce. Garnish and serve hot.
