Description
This One Pan Dumpling Dinner recipe is the ultimate quick and flavorful weeknight meal. Made with crispy frozen dumplings simmered in a sticky garlic soy sauce, this one-skillet recipe is comforting, easy to make, and packed with Asian-inspired flavor. Perfect for a dumpling dinner idea, potsticker meal, or skillet dumpling recipe.
Ingredients
16 frozen dumplings (potstickers or gyoza)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 cup water or broth
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional)
2 green onions, sliced
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place dumplings flat side down in a single layer.
2. Sear the dumplings for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown and crispy.
3. Add water or broth to the pan and cover with a lid immediately. Steam dumplings for 4–5 minutes until the tops are tender and the water has evaporated.
4. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, and sesame oil. Add optional cornstarch slurry if a thicker sauce is desired.
5. Pour the sauce into the pan and simmer until slightly thickened and dumplings are glazed.
6. Turn off the heat. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
Notes
For extra crispiness, let the dumplings sear untouched before adding the water.
A cornstarch slurry creates a glossy, clingy sauce—optional but recommended.
Use a well-fitting lid to trap steam and ensure dumplings are evenly cooked.
