Description
This One Pot Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken Penne recipe is a rich and comforting pasta dish made with tender chicken, garlic, parmesan cheese, and creamy sauce—all cooked in one pot! Perfect for busy weeknights, it’s packed with flavor and easy to customize.
Ingredients
2 large chicken breasts
2 ½ cups penne pasta
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 ½ cups heavy cream
2 cups chicken broth
1 ¼ cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
½ teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
2. Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same pot, reduce heat and melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
4. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
5. Add uncooked penne pasta into the pot. Stir frequently and simmer until pasta is al dente, about 12–14 minutes. Add a splash more broth if needed.
6. Stir in grated parmesan until fully melted and the sauce becomes creamy.
7. Slice cooked chicken and place on top of pasta. Spoon sauce over and sprinkle with parsley and chili flakes if desired.
8. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Use freshly grated parmesan for a smoother melt and better flavor.
Add a bit of milk when reheating leftovers to restore creaminess.
You can swap penne for fettuccine, shells, or rigatoni.
