Description

A bold and savory one-pan meal, this One-Skillet Spicy Honey BBQ Sausage & Pasta blends juicy sausage slices, tender rotini pasta, and a sweet-heat BBQ sauce. Infused with garlic, onion, and a touch of chili, this dish is perfect for a fast, satisfying dinner that’s ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

12 oz rotini pasta

14 oz smoked sausage, sliced into rounds

1 tbsp olive oil

1 ½ cups BBQ sauce (spicy preferred)

2 tbsp honey

1 tsp hot sauce (adjust to taste)

½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

2 cloves garlic, minced

½ small onion, finely chopped

1 cup chicken broth (or water)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: grated parmesan or chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until just shy of al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage slices and sear until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add onion and sauté until soft. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Add BBQ sauce, honey, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, and chicken broth. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  5. Return sausage to the skillet and coat with sauce. Add pasta and stir to combine. Simmer uncovered for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Taste and season with salt and pepper. Garnish if desired and serve hot.
