Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup diced tomatoes (optional)
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
10 hard taco shells
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 cup shredded lettuce (for serving)
1/2 cup sour cream or salsa (optional for topping)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks.
3. Drain excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer until thickened.
4. Line a 9×13 baking dish with foil or parchment paper. Stand taco shells upright.
5. Fill each shell with the beef mixture, then top with shredded cheese and optional diced tomatoes.
6. Bake uncovered for 10–12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. Remove from oven, garnish with chopped cilantro, and serve hot with lettuce, sour cream, or salsa.
Notes
For extra crispy shells, place the taco shells in the oven for 5 minutes before filling them.
Use freshly shredded cheese for better melt and flavor.
Add a bit of hot sauce or jalapeños to spice it up!
