Perfect for a fast dessert fix or to satisfy intense chocolate cravings with minimal prep.

Ingredients

1 cup (175g) semisweet or dark chocolate chips

2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter

2/3 cup (130g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup (30g) all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons (15g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional: extra chocolate chunks for topping

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 20-second bursts and stirring until smooth. Cool slightly.
  2. Whisk in the sugar, then add eggs one at a time, and stir in vanilla extract until the mixture is glossy.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently, stopping once fully combined.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheet. Add extra chocolate chunks on top if desired.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the tops are crackly and edges are set. Centers should look slightly underbaked.
  8. Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
