Description

Ready in under 30 minutes, this Quick Savory Beef Stir Fry is your go-to easy dinner idea when you want big flavor fast. Tender slices of beef are stir-fried with crisp vegetables and tossed in a glossy, savory sauce that’s sweet, salty, and full of umami. This one-pan dish is perfect for busy weeknights, healthy snack prep, or as a fun new addition to your quick dinner ideas. Serve it over rice or noodles, and you’ve got a balanced, satisfying meal with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced

3 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp oyster sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced

1 tbsp cornstarch

2 cups broccoli florets

1 cup carrots, sliced

1 cup green beans or snow peas

1 bell pepper, sliced

2 green onions, chopped

1 tsp sesame oil

2 tbsp neutral oil (canola or vegetable)

2 tbsp water or broth

Instructions

1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain and chop all vegetables into bite-sized pieces.

2. In a mixing bowl, marinate the beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce, cornstarch, and a drizzle of sesame oil. Let sit for 10–15 minutes.

3. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef in batches until browned, about 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

4. Add the remaining oil, then sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant. Toss in the broccoli, carrots, green beans, and bell pepper. Cook for 3–5 minutes until crisp-tender.

5. Return the beef to the pan. Stir in the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, and water or broth. Stir-fry everything together until evenly coated and heated through. Let the sauce bubble for a minute to thicken.

6. Sprinkle chopped green onions and a final dash of sesame oil. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra tender beef, make sure to slice it thinly against the grain.

Cook in batches to avoid overcrowding and steaming the ingredients.

Adjust saltiness by starting with low-sodium soy sauce and taste-testing the final sauce.
