Ingredients

1 lb fresh asparagus

1 ½ tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

2. Trim the woody ends from the asparagus and pat the spears dry.

3. In a mixing bowl, toss asparagus with olive oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper until coated evenly.

4. Arrange asparagus in a single layer on a parchment-lined or foil-lined baking sheet.

5. Roast in the oven for 12–15 minutes until tips are slightly crisp and stalks are tender.

6. Remove from oven and optionally squeeze lemon juice over the top before serving.

Notes

Drying the asparagus after rinsing ensures better roasting and prevents sogginess.

Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet—give the spears space to roast evenly.
