Ingredients
12 slices baguette
1 cup chopped fresh tomatoes
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
6 slices fresh mozzarella
6 black olives or 2 teaspoons balsamic glaze (for decorating)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette into ½-inch slices and place on a baking sheet. Lightly brush with olive oil. Toast for 8–10 minutes until golden and crispy.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, minced garlic, olive oil, basil, salt, and pepper. Let sit for 5–10 minutes to enhance the flavors.
3. Use a small ghost-shaped cookie cutter to cut ghost shapes from the mozzarella slices. Place them aside on parchment paper.
4. Spoon the tomato mixture evenly over each toasted baguette slice.
5. Place one mozzarella ghost on top of each bruschetta.
6. Use chopped black olives or a fine-tipped piping bag with balsamic glaze to create ghost faces.
7. Serve immediately while fresh and crunchy.
Notes
If making ahead, keep bread, tomato mix, and cheese separate to maintain crispness.
Use firm mozzarella to make cleaner ghost cutouts.
Add a pinch of red chili flakes to the tomato mixture for a subtle spicy kick.
