Description

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (85/15 or 90/10)

1 medium yellow onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp steak sauce (like A1)

1/3 cup ketchup

1 tbsp brown sugar

1/4 cup beef broth

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

4 brioche buns

Optional: lettuce, tomato slices, crispy bacon, pickles


Instructions

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of oil and sauté diced onions until translucent.

2. Add minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

3. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.

4. Stir in ketchup, steak sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth. Mix to combine.

5. Let the mixture simmer for 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.

6. Turn off the heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.

7. Toast brioche buns lightly. Spoon beef mixture onto each bottom bun.

8. Add your favorite toppings like lettuce or pickles, then place the top bun and serve.

Notes

Toasting the brioche buns adds texture and prevents them from getting soggy.

Don’t skip the simmering step—it helps the sauce thicken and develop deep flavor.

Freshly shredded cheddar melts better than pre-shredded and gives a creamier result.
