Ingredients
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1 cup whole milk, warm
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp salt
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar (divided)
1 tsp vanilla extract (divided)
1/3 cup strawberry puree
Crushed graham crackers or streusel topping
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add eggs, melted butter, and salt. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours.
- Roll out the dough to 1/2-inch thick and cut into rounds. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry donuts for 1–2 minutes per side until golden. Drain and cool slightly.
- Beat cream cheese with 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla until fluffy.
- Fill each donut with the cheesecake mixture using a piping bag.
- Mix remaining powdered sugar, strawberry puree, and vanilla to make glaze.
- Dip donuts into glaze and sprinkle with crushed graham crackers.
- Let glaze set for 10 minutes before serving.
