Description
This rich and indulgent Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie recipe combines the classic Southern pecan pie with a decadent layer of dark chocolate. With a flaky crust, gooey center, and toasted pecans, this dessert is perfect for holidays and gatherings. Make it ahead, freeze it, and serve it with whipped cream or ice cream for the ultimate treat.
Ingredients
1 pie crust
1 1/2 cups pecans
3/4 cup dark chocolate chips
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup corn syrup
3 large eggs
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges. Set aside.
2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips and butter until smooth. Set aside to cool.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
4. Gradually whisk in the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until fully combined.
5. Sprinkle pecans evenly into the pie crust. Pour chocolate filling over the pecans.
6. Place the pie on a baking sheet. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until center is just set.
7. Cool on a wire rack completely before serving. Serve as-is or with whipped cream or ice cream.
Notes
Let the pie cool fully before slicing to help it set properly.
Toasting pecans before adding enhances the nutty flavor.
For a deeper flavor, try adding a splash of bourbon to the filling.
