Texas Roadhouse-Style Garlic Butter Chicken Skillet is a quick and comforting dish packed with juicy, golden-seared chicken in a creamy garlic butter sauce. Perfect for weeknights but impressive enough for guests, it comes together in one skillet with rich flavors and a silky finish.
Ingredients
1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
2 tbsp olive oil
4 tbsp unsalted butter (divided)
4 garlic cloves, minced
½ cup chicken broth
½ cup heavy cream
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped (plus more for garnish)
Optional: a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions
- Pat chicken dry with paper towels and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken in a single layer until golden and cooked through (about 3–4 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
- Lower heat to medium. Add remaining 2 tbsp butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth, scraping up brown bits. Let simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Add heavy cream, Parmesan, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir until smooth.
- Return chicken to skillet and toss in sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve hot with your favorite sides.
