Description

This easy baked pears with feta honey cranberries recipe is a beautiful sweet savory dish that works as a healthy snack, elegant starter, easy recipe for entertaining, and one of those cozy food ideas you will want for holiday gatherings, brunch spreads, and simple dinner ideas. Tender pears, creamy feta, tart cranberries, and warm honey come together in a quick baked fruit dish that feels special while still being simple enough for everyday cooking.

Ingredients

2 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored

1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese

1/4 cup dried cranberries

2 tablespoons honey, plus more for drizzling

1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

2 tablespoons chopped walnuts or pecans, optional

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a small baking dish.

2. Wash the pears, slice them in half lengthwise, and scoop out the cores with a spoon or melon baller.

3. Arrange the pear halves cut side up in the baking dish.

4. Drizzle the pears with olive oil or melted butter.

5. Spoon 1 tablespoon of honey over the pear halves, then sprinkle with cinnamon and black pepper.

6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the pears are tender but still holding their shape.

7. While the pears bake, place the dried cranberries and remaining 1 tablespoon honey in a small saucepan over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes, just until the cranberries soften slightly.

8. Remove the pears from the oven and top each half with crumbled feta and the warm honeyed cranberries.

9. Sprinkle with fresh thyme and chopped walnuts or pecans if using.

10. Finish with an extra drizzle of honey and serve warm.

Notes

Use Bosc or Anjou pears for the best texture because they hold their shape well during baking.

Add the feta after baking so it softens gently without fully melting.

For a sweeter version, serve with vanilla yogurt or mascarpone on the side.
