Description
Crispy Air Fryer Tofu is a quick breakfast, easy dinner, healthy snack, and one of the best food ideas for busy days. This easy recipe delivers golden, crunchy tofu cubes with a tender center, making it perfect for breakfast ideas, dinner ideas, grain bowls, salads, wraps, or simple meal prep.
Ingredients
14 ounces extra-firm tofu
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Remove the tofu from the package, drain it well, and press it for 20 to 30 minutes using a tofu press or clean kitchen towels.
2. Cut the pressed tofu into even bite-sized cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.
3. Add the olive oil, soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt, then toss gently until all the tofu pieces are coated.
4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F for 3 to 5 minutes.
5. Arrange the tofu cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between the pieces. Cook in batches if needed.
6. Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping the tofu halfway through cooking, until the cubes are golden and crispy.
7. Serve immediately while hot and crisp, or cool and store for later meal prep.
Notes
Pressing the tofu well is the key to getting the crispiest texture.
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket or the tofu will steam instead of crisp.
For extra flavor, toss the cooked tofu in a sauce right before serving.
