Ingredients
1 lb carrots
2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup water
Instructions
1. Peel the carrots and trim the ends. If they are thick, slice them lengthwise or cut into even pieces.
2. Add the carrots and water to a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until the carrots begin to soften.
4. Drain any excess water from the skillet.
5. Add the butter, maple syrup, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
6. Cook uncovered for 4 to 6 minutes, stirring gently, until the glaze thickens and coats the carrots.
7. Remove from the heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Cut the carrots to a similar size so they cook evenly.
Use pure maple syrup for the best rich maple flavor.
Add a splash of water while reheating if the glaze becomes too thick.
