Description

These Easy Peppermint Patties are a cool, creamy, chocolate-covered treat that feels festive and fancy while being incredibly simple to make at home. Perfect for holiday dessert boards, easy recipe planning, homemade candy gifts, and sweet food ideas, they deliver a smooth peppermint center with a rich chocolate shell in every bite.

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk

1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 tablespoon coconut oil

2 tablespoons crushed candy canes

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, mix the powdered sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and peppermint extract until a thick dough forms.

2. Scoop small portions of the mixture, roll into balls, and gently flatten into patty shapes.

3. Place the patties on a parchment-lined tray and chill for 20 to 30 minutes until firm.

4. Melt the chocolate chips with the coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.

5. Dip each chilled patty into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off before placing it back on the tray.

6. Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top before the chocolate sets.

7. Chill or let sit until the chocolate coating is fully firm, then serve or store.

Notes

Use a light hand with the peppermint extract so the filling stays balanced and not overpowering.

Chill the centers well before dipping so they keep their shape in the warm chocolate.

Store the patties in the refrigerator for the cleanest texture and best bite.
