Description

Flavor-Packed Chicken Pitas are an easy dinner packed with juicy spiced chicken, creamy tzatziki, and crisp fresh vegetables tucked into warm pita bread. Ingredients

2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup plain Greek yogurt

1/2 cup grated cucumber

1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 garlic clove, minced

4 pita breads

1 large tomato, sliced

1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced

1/2 cucumber, sliced

1 cup shredded lettuce


Instructions

1. Pat the chicken dry and coat it with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

2. Let the chicken rest for 10 to 15 minutes while you prepare the sauce.

3. In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, dill, lemon juice, and minced garlic until creamy.

4. Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 5 to 7 minutes per side until fully cooked.

5. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board, rest for 5 minutes, then slice into strips.

6. Warm the pita breads until soft and pliable.

7. Fill each pita with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, red onion, and sliced chicken.

8. Spoon tzatziki over the top and serve immediately.

Notes

Use chicken thighs instead of breasts if you want even juicier filling.

Drain the grated cucumber lightly before mixing the sauce so the tzatziki stays thick and creamy.

Warm the pita just before serving so it folds easily and holds the filling better.
