Description

This quick and easy Korean ground beef bowl is a fast, flavor-packed dinner made with savory beef, garlic, ginger, and a glossy sweet-savory sauce served over warm rice. It is perfect for a quick breakfast, easy dinner, healthy snack prep, simple lunch bowls, and weeknight food ideas when you need an easy recipe that tastes better than takeout.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

3 cups cooked white rice

1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

2 green onions, thinly sliced

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

1. Cook the white rice according to package directions and keep it warm.

2. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes.

3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef.

4. Break the beef into small crumbles and cook until browned and fully cooked through.

5. Drain excess grease if needed.

6. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet and stir well to coat the beef evenly.

7. Let the beef simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and turns glossy.

8. Spoon the warm rice into bowls.

9. Top each bowl with the Korean ground beef mixture.

10. Finish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Use lean ground beef if you want a lighter bowl with less grease.

Add steamed broccoli, shredded carrots, or cucumber slices for extra texture and freshness.

A fried egg on top makes this bowl even more filling and flavorful.
