Sloppy Joe Casserole is the perfect union of bold, tangy meat sauce and cheesy pasta comfort. This dish reinvents the classic sandwich into a hearty baked meal that’s ideal for family dinners, potlucks, or easy weeknight indulgence. It’s loaded with flavor, simple to prepare, and irresistibly cheesy with every forkful.


Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

1/2 cup ketchup

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon mustard

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups uncooked pasta (elbow or ziti recommended)

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Optional: 1/2 teaspoon chili powder or smoked paprika

Optional garnish: chopped parsley or green onions


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and onion. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, pepper, and optional spices. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  6. Combine cooked pasta and meat sauce in a large bowl.
  7. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  9. Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  10. Let cool slightly, garnish if desired, and serve warm.
